APUSH Gilded Age Discussion Questions

Here they are: the Gilded Age discussion questions. The purpose of these discussions is to provide an opportunity to debate historical issues with your peers. You need to approach the discussion much like you approach essays. You need to argue a point and provide concrete evidence to support it.

There are THREE discussion questions. Here are the instructions:

1.  Write a response to TWO of the questions.  The responses should be in the form of a paragraph and contain specific information as evidence to the point you are making.  The evidence needs to come from Howard Zinn's "Robber Barons and Rebels."

2.  After other people have started making responses, you need to make two responses to statements made by your peers.  You need to either support or refute what they have said...again, using specific evidence from Howard Zinn and/or Chapters 17 & 18 from the text.

So, in the end, you will have made 4 responses TOTAL (You can do more than four...That would show that you have really gotten into history discussion.  I like that ;)

Remember to be civil and to provide evidence for everything you state.

The discussion will be open until 6 am Monday morning.  If you have not made responses by then, you will not receive any points for this discussion.

Click on the link below to enter the discussion board. Have fun.
